About Us
Hoyo’s Cuisine is a woman-owned business first established in 1980 by Chef Qamar, affectionately known as Hoyo (mom), in our mother's village in Somalia. Following the civil war, our family was forced to close the restaurant and flee to the U.S. in search of safety. In 2019, we began rebuilding by sharing our specialty recipes right in the heart of the welcoming Phoenix community. At Hoyo’s Cuisine, we take pride in delivering the delicious flavors of East Africa to the West Coast. We invite our customers to enjoy a unique global-to-local experience that transports you back to the cultural traditions shared in Hoyo Qamar's kitchen. Our recipes not only highlight traditional Somali cuisine but also reflect the diverse cultural influences that have shaped Somalia's rich culinary history.

listed here, we are pleased to create custom menus to suit your preferences. Specializing in authentic Somali cuisine, we offer a variety of traditional dishes that bring the rich flavors of Somalia to your event. Please inform us of any food allergies when placing catering orders. Note that there is a $300 minimum on catering orders, and please allow 48 hours' notice for all catering orders.
